An exhibition dedicated to Bulgaria will open on the evening of December 29 at the BTA press club in Turkey's capital Ankara. The opening of the exhibition, “The Bridge of Colors: Children with Special Talents from Turkey Paint Bulgaria,” hosted by BTA, is organized in partnership with the Embassy of Bulgaria in Turkey, the “Nasreddin Hodja” Science and Art Center, and the Foundation of Balkan Immigrants in Ankara (BISAV).

The talented children have recreated Bulgaria’s beautiful nature, its landmarks, folklore, and traditions in 29 paintings.

Among the paintings are also portraits of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who, after his stay in Bulgaria as a military attaché, was likewise impressed, much like the creators of the exhibition.

The screening of Nahide Deniz’s documentary film “Mustafa Kemal’s Sofia Days 1913–1915” in Sofia, along with the stories about Bulgaria shared by Bulgaria’s ambassador to Turkey, Angel Cholakov, are at the heart of the inspiration for these works, the agency reports.
