Pop singer Poli Genova makes an emotional comeback with “My Soul”

After nearly two years of a creative pause, needed to rethink her musical direction, Bulgarian pop singer Poli Genova is back with a new song titled “My Soul.” The track was conceived as early as September 2025 during the singer’s participation in an international music songwriting camp in Bulgaria (Sofia Songwriting Camp), where encounters with talented people from all over the world filled her with new ideas and energy.

Poli Genova created the song together with Swedish artist Etta Zelmani and two of Bulgaria’s top hitmakers, Acho and DJ Pancho (Angel Prodanov and Pancho Karamanski). The contemporary drum and bass sound of this otherwise pop song is the result of the arrangement by Romanian producer Monoir.

A beautiful touch in “My Soul” - the weaving in of elements from the popular Bulgarian folk song “Dilmano, Dilbero” - is an idea inspired by a personal moment involving Poli’s grandmother and her daughter Lea, which occurred just days before the recording.

The music video for the song, created by Kris Zahariev, presents the idea of overcoming life’s turning points - the flight of our brave little heart that helps us enter a daily battle with ourselves and for ourselves.
